AdditivesNotes

I'm loving this finished product!!! We added a bit of dark green liquid soap color as well as some sparkly green mica meant for soap making.  Also I used the darker shade on the bottom which actually seemed to take on a blue hue. Odd.  The top color almost achieved what I was looking for.  Simply, a color of fresh guacamole.  Close.  Unfortunately I didn't have enough color to really make it happen and adding cold leftover whey with the powdered lye made it a bit more difficult as the chemical reaction caused the liquid whey to go from white to bright orange.  That was a pretty fun scientific experiment to try out.
I added frozen whey this time for two reasons.
  1. I had extra left over from mozzarella cheese making.
  2. I wanted to see what kind of soap bar it would make?  Would it be more nourishing to the skin? I haven't found a whole lot of results talking about that so we'll see in about 5 or 6 weeks when the soap has had time to cure.
Our next batch will possibly be one of our two favorites.  Oatmeal, milk and honey or cafe mocha.  I'll be sure to post those recipes as well as the finished pictures.
